First things first: What's your screen resolution? If you say it's 1024x768, then wonderful, you're at the right place. Have I got another arts-related FL that you might be interested to join: Digital Photography! 
I was so excited to be approved for this subject, so I went to work immediately (hence the relative simplicity of the layout). I’m not so sure about how the layout translates to y’all, but I liked how abstract and dramatic the rings looked. As if they were defying gravity. Or they could be metaphors for the camera viewfinder/lens/eye. 
This is the first time I’ve made a layout with 1) no textures; 2) no colorization; and 3) with my own magazine scan. (Well, the magazine wasn’t mine—it’s a colleague’s—but I scanned it myself. :P) BTW, it’s also my first time to design for a higher resolution that 1024×768, so users of that resolution will only see The Digital Photography Fanlist as the title. (Sorry about that! :X)
EDIT: I just got the approval email to run the Digital Cameras FL, so I am integrating that with the Digital Photography fanlisting. After all, you can’t produce the art without the gadget. Hooray!
